Keigo ABE
The beginning of JSKA is associated with Keigo ABE, one of the most talented followers of Nakayama Masatoshi. Born 28 October 1938.
Keigo ABE Sensei, founded the JAPAN SHOTOKAN KARATE ASSOCIATION the 10th February 1999.
ABE Sensei holds 9th Dan in the Japan Shotokan Karate Association and is the JSKA Chief Instructor. It is one of the fastest growing Shotokan associations in the world.
Keigo ABE Sensei was born in October 1938 in the town of Iyoshi in Ehime Prefecture on Shikoku Island in East Japan.
ABE Sensei started Karate and Judo training when he was 15 years old.
In 1956 he entered the Japan Engineering University in Tokyo from which he graduated in 1960.
In 1958 ABE Sensei started to train at the Headquarters of the Japan Karate Association (JKA) where he met a young and powerful Sensei, NAKAYAMA Masatoshi Sensei, who was to become his grand master.
ABE Sensei trained there every day for nearly 35 years.
I began to go in for karate and judo when I was fifteen. In 1958 I joined Japan Karate Association; among my teachers was renowned Masatoshi Nakayama (1913–1987)

Mitsuru NAGAKI
The current Chief Instructor is Mitsuru Nagaki, 9th Dan, a student of Abe and former instructor with the Japan Karate Shotorenmei.
Sensei Mitsuru NAGAKI, born in 1950 in Ehime Prefecture, was considered to have a promising future in judo, which he had worked hard at since childhood.
Later, when he entered Nihon University, he studied karate under Abe Sensei. Since then he has dedicated his life to karate.
His leadership is highly regarded in the karate world, and NAGAKI Sensei has successively produced many world-class karate experts, including world champions.
He also never fails to practise hard and has set an unprecedented record of winning 27 consecutive Master Class Championships.
